On behalf of the Family and Community Engagement Services (FACES) Department and Title I Services, I would like to invite the parents/families within your districts to our upcoming Title I Family Learning Resource Academy (FLRA) on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 9:30 a.m.- Noon., with registration and refreshments beginning at 9:00 a.m. This free learning opportunity will take place at the Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center located at 1625 W. Carey Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89032.
Our guest presenters, Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program (RPDP), will demonstrate how parents and caregivers can support S.T.E.M. learning activities at home to extend educational experiences. By attending, parents will gain valuable strategies, educational resources, and other important information to support their children’s academic success. Additionally, there will be a community resource fair after the presentation for participants to gather information on valuable services and resources from within the community.
Attendance does matter; therefore school-aged children who are enrolled in school are not permitted to attend this event. Free childcare will be provided for young children not yet enrolled in school. Spanish translation will be provided as well.
More information is provided in the attached flyer. For additional questions, please call the FACES office at 702-799-0303.
